Belated BYBS#16 - Sacred Life Sunday and ...

.. Monday Motivator too ;--)

"I believe in the imagination.
What I cannot see is infinitely more important
than what I can see." ~Duane Michals, Real Dreams

As I've shared previously ... I'm exceedingly grateful for my 'happily retired' lifestyle ... delighted to have time to enjoy TENNIS at the US Open this past week. I wrote of this exciting tournament in some detail at Small Reflections earlier today. In addition, my Photoshop Elements class has resumed ... so my schedule is busier than usual, but I love what I'm learning about using 'filters' to alter the appearance of photographs. It's been fun to share some of my 'experimentations' with images on both of my blogs.

Last Sunday I shared an award in my Belated BYBS#15 ... and I wish to acknowledge three others here and express my thanks to
Mike Golch of MJG's Rambling Thoughts gave both to me for Sacred Ruminations. I do feel blessed by his generosity and would like to pass all three along to anyone on my Blog Rolls in the sidebar (near the bottom of the page here at Sacred Ruminations) ... at Small Reflections and/or any of those listed at Blog Rolls & Bling.

If I visit YOUR blog with any regularity ... you know I love it. To those I've neglected these past few months, I apologize ... but I'm determined to catch up with all those unread posts in my 'reader' ... eventually, so please bear with me.

It's great you are enjoying your life. Too many people are unhappy and I find that so sad.

So much for my plan for getting back on track!! Although, I must write, in my own defense, that I don't have my laptop right now--there's something wrong with the CD/DVD drive and so it's been sent away and will not come for at least two weeks. Heavy sigh.

Retirement sounds good--any way I can get me some of that?

Mike Golch – Well put ;--)

Michelle – Yez … I certainly am. It’s been 7 years since I retired in June of 2001 (going on 8 as the new school year begins) … and I’m amazed at how busy I am sometimes … causing me to wonder how I ever had TIME to work all those years. LOL

Tammy – I agree it’s sad when folks focus on what’s missing … rather than what’s present in their lives. I think it might have been Will Rogers who said, “Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.” Methinks that’s quite true.

Karen – Hey … you dropped by today … and that’s a good thing from MY perspective. I’m sorry about the problems with your laptop. As for ‘retirement’ … all those decades I was in the work force, I never gave a thought to retiring (other than to set money aside for when I was old enough). For the most part, I enjoyed each day as it came … pretty much the way I do now. Being 63 has positives and negatives … but it’s where I am in life … so I might as well make the most of it. Now that Nathan's in school, seems like you've got a bit of 'found time' to use however you choose ... so you could CALL it 'retirement' if you wish. Methinks that's the best I can offer off the top of my head ;--)

To all – Thanks for visiting and leaving your comments here at Sacred Ruminations. Because I post on this blog ‘irregularly’ … I never know who (if anyone) is likely to see what I decide to publish. It’s always a delightful surprise to see who has happened by in my absence.
Hugs and blessings,

Vixen – Thanks so much. After seeing the ‘responsible’ (if belated) way you shared awards on YOUR blog, I’m feeling a bit guilty I didn’t pay more attention to the ‘rulez’ … but I really wanted to and share the awards even though I’ve been too busy to think straight.

Shelli – Your blog’s in my reader … so I keep up but don’t usually stop to comment because sometimes your blog won’t let me do so. Interestingly THIS time it accepted my comment … so maybe whatever the ‘glitch’ was is fixed? I do understand busy … have been much too busy myself of late.

Joyce – I thought so too. Mike gave it to me a while back and I put it in my sidebar, but I can’t remember sharing it before. I’m happy to do so now.

Sandy Carlson – Thanks so much. I don’t know how YOU keep up with everything, but I’m striving to get myself back on track soon.

To all – I appreciate your visit and feedback … hope all is well with you & yours … and wish you a wonderful weekend.
Hugs and blessings,
