Sunrise-Sunset #1 - BYBS #17 - Sacred Life Sunday

Hootin' Anni mentioned a new weekly meme yesterday ... and I've decided to participate with a recent sunrise from my front yard.

Click here for 'rulez' and others participating this week.

"Sometimes I've believed as many as
six impossible things before breakfast.
" ~Lewis Carroll

Since I've been LATE to publish BYBS & SSS the past two weeks, I've decided to do it first thing this morning. My prayers are with all those affected by previous storms Gustaf & Hannah ... and those in path of 'category 4' Hurricane Ike.

5 Really Good Things
1. I'm grateful Southern California fire-fighters were able to put down two wildfires yesterday before any homes were destroyed.

2. I'm relieved that Roger Federer won his semi-final match yesterday against Novak Djokovic, and I'm hopeful that Rafa Nada will manage to come back from 2 sets down (after yesterday's rain delay) to win his match against Andy Murray because I'd like to see these two great champions 'battle' once again on the court before tennis season ends for 2008.

3. I'm looking forward to the Women's Championship match between Serena Williams and Jelena Jankovic ... (postponed yesterday due to rain & rescheduled for this evening) ... but it's hard to imagine it will compare with Serena's highly competitive match with Venus last Friday night.

4. This week's Photoshop Elements lessons introduced 'adjustment layers' and although I've not had time to experiment and share those tools & techniques ... I'm hoping I'll be able to do so in the week ahead. I continue to be amazed at the power of this program, and will never look at (or believe) a photograph in the same way again because it's possible to create 'fiction' quite easily.

5. Once again ... I've been blessed with more awards to acknowledge and share.
These two came from Vixen of Vixen's Den who 'broke the rulez' (as I so often do) and generously gave them to all her regular readers. I've decided to do the same thing here ...

so I'm sharing both with everyone on any of my Blog Rolls ... located in the sidebar (near the bottom of the page here at Sacred Ruminations) ... at Small Reflections and at Blog Rolls & Bling. If I visit YOUR blog with any regularity ... you know I love it. As I indicated last Sunday ... to those I've neglected these past few months, I apologize ... but I'm determined to catch up with all those unread posts in my 'reader' ... eventually, so please bear with me.

Oh what a beautiful photo of the sunrise. Just breathtaking. Mine's up too, if you get a chance to pop over.
[now that I found the meme, I will be taking more photos --and once the mosquitoes decide to get out of the country for the season, I'll be able to snap some photos of the sunsets too. rofl]

Have a wonderful Sunday.

Love your sunrise photo. I do enjoy the beautiful skies when the sun is rising and setting. Such a hue of colors.

We haven't had the beautiful sunsets this year. I'm not sure if it has something to do with the rainy weather. Possibly, as many nights the skies have been overcast.

Enjoyed visiting with you.
Blessings,
Mary

Sunrise and sunsets are always a new blessing to greet the day or to say so long. Did you get a chance to stop by and read mine this week?

Hope you will.

Mama Zen – Thanks … I love the fact that my house faces East where I can watch the sun rise daily.

Hootin’ Anni – I’m glad you found and shared this weekly meme. It’s been fun to see what others have shared today and hopefully even more folks will participate as time goes on.

Baba’s Blog – I appreciate you stopping by and leaving the link back to your sunrise.

Mary – How nice of you to drop by today! I enjoyed catching up at your Writing Nook earlier. Congrats on your 1st Blogoversary.

Paulie – I’ve not had the chance to visit yet today, but I’ll do my best to drop by tomorrow. I always enjoy your BYBS posts and the photos you share too.

To all – I appreciate each of you sharing your thoughts here … hope you’ve all enjoyed your weekend … and wish you a good week ahead.

You came up with a bunch of things to be thankful for. The thing about the wildfires is the kind of thing we never get to hear about.

Tammy – Thanks. I’ve only recently started taking ‘sky photos’ and I’m having lots of fun sharing them on my blogs. I’m no ‘expert’ … but hopefully I’m getting better with practice ;--)

Lisa – I’ve made it a practice for almost 20 years now to write at least 5 things in my journal each day for which I’m grateful and it’s made a HUGE difference in my life … seriously! I make it a point to do it at least once weekly in this more public forum.

Thanks to both of you for taking time to drop by and share your thoughts. Hope you’re having a delightful day!

Hugs and blessings,
