BYBS#22 - Sacred Life Sunday

Because I've not taken any new Sunrise-Sunset photos
I won't be participating in that meme today,
but I offer this ... just because

"Be fearless and pure;never waver in your determination or your dedication to the spiritual life. Give freely. Be self-controlled, sincere, truthful, loving, and full of the desire to serve... Learn to be detached and to take joy in renunciation. Do not get angry or harm any living creature, but be compassionate and gentle; show good will to all. Cultivate vigor, patience, will, purity; avoid malice and pride. Then, you will achieve your destiny." Krishna from The Bhagavad Gita

This week as I've attempted to remain calm & centered in the face of daily stress resulting from 'financial chaos' and 'political mud-slinging' ... I've rediscovered that taking time daily to write down my 'fears' (blessing them and letting them go as best I can) and surrounding myself with positive thoughts to keep my mind directed toward 'possibilities' ... makes a huge difference. I'm grateful for those who have shared their wisdom, and today I share a few of those ideas with all those who pass this way ... just because.

"Most people give up just when they're about to achieve success. They quit on the one-yard line. They give up at the last minute of the game, one foot from a winning touchdown."
Ross Perot

Thank you for sharing those comforting thoughts. I like your idea of writing down your fears, etc. and then turning them over to the Lord so you can forget about them the best you can. That's a good idea and one I need to try.

I will definitely try this. The quote is something I will keep with me in my office at school. So much yelling goes on in that place. Why not get to the same place with kindness?

And I will follow your lead and write down my fears lest they overcome me. Thank you for being a great teacher to me. God bless.

My husband has been in utter turmoil over what's going on with our country, and I haven't been too happy either, so it takes a lotta work to remain calm. Rah for you. :)

Beautiful, calming photo...and the quote is so wise. It is important to keep to the calm side, isn't it; even when things seem overwhelmingly the opposite. As the poet wrote: all will be well....
