HF#138 - SkyWatch#50

Gratefully sharing
smoke-free skies from Orange County
while praying for those

coping with fires
burning uncontrollably ...
Everything's so dry

here in California.
Beautiful though skies may be
RAIN is what we need!

Click collages to embiggen for better viewing
and for others participating in
Haiku Friday, Looking at the Sky on Friday
and Sky Watch this week.

lookingatthesky

I took these photos
with my Nikon D60
while watching the news

on television
then created the collage
with PSE6.
Conditions like these
make fighting the wildfires
much more difficult.

Please pray for quick containment and for everyone affected ... especially the fire-fighters facing dangerous conditions on precarious terrain.

I was surprised to hear of the fires in Santa Barbara while we were getting rain in Sacramento. I hope we are not headed for a fire season like last year.

Hi,
I am sorry to see the fires California is experiencing. So frightening. On a happier note-I like your photos of the sky and I appreciate your visit and kind comments today. Nice to meet you and see you again soon!

Oh that is sad news. I hope the firestorm will be over. It just shows how unstable are the weather all over the world.

A really good record of the havoc that is being caused by those fires. Good idea to publisize a collage taken through the TV to show the world what's been going on.
My heart goes out the injured firefighters and I take my hat off to all of them. Also thinking of all the affected families in the region.
Your thought of the day is so apt for this situation.
I pray for some rain to release your plight. Drought is a horrible thing for everyone, nature included.

I don't remember fires in May...June, maybe, but May? So sad. I grew up in Arcadia and I remember our San Gabriel mountain fires as a kid.

It is the same every year, was it always like that, maybe it is dryer because of the climate change?
