Bulb Shoots with a Mind of their Own

ShadowShotSunday
& Mosaic Monday
are in the next post

ALMOST

These little bulb shoots
do not realize it's not
Spring ... rather crazy

to see them pop up
in October rather than
when they're supposed to.

Irises planted
thirty years ago beneath
this Korean grass

have bloomed every Spring
but I have no idea what
might happen next now ...

because it's October!
Do YOU?

This is what they looked like this past Spring!

The irises are really beautiful. I also like the texture created by the Korean grass. It is very interesting in the photos. So, you will have to keep us posted on what happens with irises in October!

I love how delicate they are, and the wonderful shade of blue

The green shoots look nice, but I hope that doesn't mean that they won't bloom next spring... Thanks so much for sharing at MM. :)

As long as you have a good hard freeze between now and spring they should be okay. Not sure what triggered the second sprouting, but a freeze should reset them.

That is strange that they are shooting up now. Have you had a warm spell? They do look quite lovely when in bloom as seen in your mosaic from last spring.

Thank you for sharing them with us. I sure hope they bloom again in the spring.

So far we haven't seen any confused plants popping up, but cold weather hasn't really gotten here yet.
