Although I continue to keep a Daily Gratitude List in my sidebar at Small Reflections, it's been a while since I last Blogged my Blessings here, so here goes: I'm grateful ...

1. that the rain has stopped (for the weekend at least) and next week's predicted weather isn't supposed to be as severe as last week's storms. We really do NEED the rain (though not all at once like this) ... the ground has responded producing new growth (and WEEDS everywhere)! Guess I'll be busy in the garden for a while.
I'm hoping to get the flat of pansies in the ground next week but the soil's much too saturated today.

2. It's wonderful to see blue skies and shadows again ... and Ms Kitty's happy to have her favorite spots dry enough to hang out & watch the world go by!

3. I'm relieved to have made progress with my Medicare applications last week and am hoping everything will progress from here with no unexpected glitches. I'm still trying to decide about a Plan D prescription plan and am open to input on the process if anyone has advice to offer. Online research is confusing at best and the fact that my computer has been crashing to the Blue Screen of Death several times a day isn't helping ... but I'm confident I'll figure it out before the end of the month and get myself signed up for something.

4. I've been backing up my photos and documents this morning and plan to call Dell later on today or tomorrow once that's finished. The previous 'crash messages' have indicated WLAN 'driver' issues (though I've checked numerous times & have the most recent drivers for my card installed) ... but an early morning 'recovery message' indicated that the WLAN card isn't working properly so perhaps they'll send me a new one and my problems will disappear. (One can always hope, right?)

5. Although I've fallen behind on 'blog visits' ... the rain and computer problems have freed up time to watch Australian Open tennis matches and US National figure skating championships on television this week ... and that's been a pleasant diversion. I do hope to be able to catch up eventually and I appreciate all of you who have continued to drop by in the meantime.

in the sidebar at Small Reflections

Glad it's drying up a little for you. I think you've had enough rain for awhile. We're having a very rainy, stay-inside Sunday here, but we expect it here in Oregon of course.

Beautiful sunshine. We do the same when it clears here, run out and enjoy that sun. Love that you even have a sunny yellow dandelion in your mosaic. It's such a happy color it deserves love too.

I'm so glad to see your sunny photos! I do hope Dell can help you. I love Dell and that's the only brand I buy. They do seem to have good customer service. I absolutly adore your thought for today, and It's so true. I must write it down and post it somewhere visable at all times!! Blessings.

Ah, Sunny Southern California is back in good form!

This is a lovely set of OSI 'verses.'

Best wishes on the Medicare. Being sure to beat the deadline is the most important.

Mom and Dad used AARP, so does my sister. None of them has had any problem and feel it is competitive.
Mrs. Jim and I have Texas Employee insurance that carried on as Medicare Supplemnts when I retired and hers when she became 65. It includes drugs with copays. Mine is free to me, hers costs about $250 a month. We have no copays but do have a small annual deductibal.
My mother-in-law had a very inclusive HMO (different name with Medicare, but can't remember) that was excellent except for a hassle on ambulance fees. She died three years ago on January 19.

Best of wishes with it all. I think you can change during a 'change period' but check to see if you need a physical to change into it. I hope our national health law does away with pre-existing for all the medicare companys.

This is all I know and it is only our dealings.

Agan, best of wishes, (((((HUGS))))) and :)
