HaikuFriday Sky Watch & Photo Upload Update

Let's hear it for friends
in the Blogosphere who share
their knowledge freely!!!

Carver pointed to

Photobucket as a way
to add more pictures

and, of course, that works
(as one possibility) ...
Eye on Texel's, Dick

suggested that I
make a new Google account
then add it to my

current account and
this is what I chose to do ...
Kewl ... it seems to work!

Waiting for the rain
I snapped these pix yesterday ...
such diversity!

I found a 'workaround fix' for exceeding my Blogger upload limit. I'm not sure I did exactly what Dick suggested, but I've created a 'Google Account' for Happily Retired Gal (seemed like a logical choice since I use that persona already at WordPress) then used my 'storyteller' account to 'invite' myself (as HRG) to publish on each of my blogs. I'm using the new account to create this post and am looking forward to see how this all works out.

I'm planning to be a bit more cautious with my uploads for a while as I experiment going forward.
In yesterday's 13 Random Thoughts on my Mind at Small Reflections I shared how I tried to 'free up' space to upload more pictures (by deleting photos from older posts), but that didn't seem 'cost effective' time wise.

In the minimal space created, I opted to experiment with photos resized to 'small' using
a 'Vista compatible clone' of Microsoft's 'Power Toy Resizer' for XP and discovered they can be 'embiggened' ... but not as much as before.

The Sky Photos in today's post have been resized to 'medium' (uploaded at large) and I'll see what happens to their size when 'embiggened' once I publish this post.

I'm delighted to report that I spent an enjoyable day with my sister yesterday and (although the skies looked threatening most of the day), the rains didn't start to fall until about 2:00 this morning. Compared to what's happening on the East Coast today, our storm should be minimal and hopefully my recently planted pansies will survive just fine. Currently we've got slow, steady drizzles.

I have no idea what you're talking about but if it helps you post, I'm all for it!

The last picture of just the sky is my fave this week. Very calming!

It looks as if you have found a wonderful work-around to your problem. Your sky watch photos are beautiful. It certainly is a pleasure to see those gorgeous blue skies.

Congrats on getting around the upload problem! And enjoy your gentle rain...we're readying ourselves for the snowy onslaught out here on the east coast...

Hi There Virginia, Great pictures of the Palm trees--climbing up toward the sky... Amazing how tall they are!!!!

I checked my Blogger max and I am at 32%.. That is after a year on Blogger. SO--I guess I'm okay for another couple of years. Then--I'll have to find a Plan B...

We have had lots of rain today/yesterday. At least it's not ICE.

Hugs,
Betsy

You certainly do have some diverse skies here...and all pretty!

You can pay for more upload space and it doesn't seem too expensive for what you get.

Virginia, I'm SO glad you told us about this. I might do the same thing because I think I'm about to hit my limit, too. THANKS! :-)

And I love your photos. Glad you found a solution because I always enjoy seeing them!

XO,

Sheila :-)

I love photobucket and Flickr. :) I use them both in addition to blogger. Glad you figured out a way around it.

I am also amazed by palm trees. You know we don't have those here (in Arkansas) and I have always thought that they were the coolest things.

Thanks so much for linking up with us at Looking @ The Sky on Friday! Happy weekend!

Lovely sky photo, the palm trees are beautiful. I am happy you found an answer to the upload problem. I was wondering how much space are you allowed.

Wow, the palm trees sure grow tall in California! I love your sky photos, especially the last one which reminds me of popcorn!

Carver said...

Wonderful sky shots and I'm so glad that adding another google account worked for you in terms of photos.

I love the blue sky behind the palm trees and the puffy white clouds.
Glad you found a solution. I gave in to the pressure and paid for more space...

Your pictures are all gorgeous. I love looking up at those palm trees.

I'm glad you figured out a way to upload more. I'm going to keep that in mind if/when I need more space. I already maxed out Photobucket. That was irritating, because they never told me how much space I had, until I was 'over the limit' and had to pay to get more. No thanks.

I hear that the burn areas are experiencing mudslides again. Too bad we can't get the rain in less destructive doses.
I've a ways to go before I run out of room on my google account. It's nice to know there is help out there when the time comes.
