Friday's FAVE Five ... Looking at the Sky

lookingatthesky

1. Although the 'scheduled auto post' for my Yard Art #2 didn't work for Thursday morning, I did manually published it belatedly last night at Happily Retired Gal when I noticed it wasn't there. I really like Mary's new Yard Art meme and invite all to check it out and perhaps participate as time permits.

2. I'm surprised, but my old D-Link 'wireless router' is working again (will wonders never cease?) and last night 'Chris' (of Time Warner Cable's internet tech support) patiently helped me 'reconfigure my cable modem' ... so when Vinnie from Dell Tech Support calls this afternoon (after
this morning's Movie Maker class) perhaps he'll be able to deal with the as yet unexplained 'faulty WLAN card' messages. I also plan to ask why the old HP Photosmart 7150 printer no longer shows up in the Control Panel and isn't recognized when I plug it in. Keep your fingers crossed for me. My sister will be here at 2pm. We're headed to Origins at South Coast Plaza where we're getting free facials after which we'll have an early dinner at BJs in honor of HER birthday ;-)

3. Although I shared stormy skies recently, our Southern California skies here at the beach change often and are usually a beautiful blue ... even when clouds hover and/or drift by. Here are three views of the same set of three palms on my block.

As I've mentioned previously, sunrise is my favorite time of day ... and if you missed them (and time permits) you might enjoy early morning views I shared from this week (see #12 in Beauty, Joy, Sunrise, Reflections & Quotes and/or #5 in morning Musings).

4. I've received several awards lately from a variety of sources but haven't had time to acknowledge them or to share ... so I've decided to do that here since I came across these while looking for Susanne's new Fave Five logo. Lest I lose track of them again ... I'd like to extend my heartfelt t
hanks to Martha of Menagerie, Pam of Mom's Mutterings and Ellie Vellie for these awards ...

... and I'd like to share any or all of these with YOU today because I enjoy your visits & comments. If memory serves ... I'm supposed to share 10 interesting things about myself when I pass them along but methinks there's not much regular readers don't know about me at this point. To those of you who might be new, I refer to you 101 Things About Me ... just because ;-)

5.
Since I didn't have time to devote to the 'inspiration video' I wanted to create this week in part two of my Friday Movie Maker class (see #7 in Sunday's post at Sacred Ruminations), I've gathered photos of Molly (regular & resized versions) to bring with me with morning so perhaps I'll be able create something of interest to share on one of my blogs after all and I'll learn what I need to know to create some original 'inpirational videos' in the weeks or months to come.

Bonus ... just because ;-)
I've shared this link before
but methinks it bears repeating ...

This morning's email from Simple Truths contained a link to this brief inspirational video about the power of encouragement based on the book Even Eagles Need a Push by David McNally. If you have three & a half minutes, it's worth clicking the link to watch ... now or later. Perhaps you'll pass it along as I've done ... just because.

It's been another incredibly BUSY week,
so I'll be catching up on blog visits
over the weekend again.
Hope you've had a wonderful week!

I love palm trees. Ever since I was young, they have been one of my favorite trees. They just speak of happy, sunny weather and beaches. Those are so pretty and so TALL! I love the tall ones, too and the stout ones and the sago palms and the palmettos, etc.

XO,

Sheila :-)

The picture of the kitten is priceless. I'm sorry to hear that you're still having trouble getting your wireless setup working properly. Technology is great when it works, frustrating when it doesn't. Congratulations on your awards.

I love your Mac Anderson quote about The Push. You do still have several unresolved computer issues, I hope they can all be straightened out! I'm also hoping you will post pictures of your birthday meal with your sister.

I love the way palm trees look, but even more, I love the way they sound in the breeze, the rustling of the leaves, so relaxing.
