Haiku Friday #30 - Joyful Burst of Color

"Earth laughs in flowers." Ralph Waldo Emerson

Spring burst forth last month
and continues to produce
flowers everywhere

first irises were
purple ... then the 'yellows' came
now I've got these 'white'

blossoms ... looking close
you might catch a faint tinge of
lavender highlights

just when I believed
daffodils had given up
this one bloomed ... and now

more are popping up
so I guess they were just a
little 'late' this year

this pink rose was first
to reveal it's beauty ... then
much to my surprise

amaryllis chose
next to show itself ... like this
though it took a while

I may create a
collage of it's gradual
evolution soon

now my favorite
apricot rose is in bloom
finally ... what joy!

apparently we're
in for a 'heat wave' of sorts
85 today

nineties over the
weekend ... so I'll need to keep
an eye on how dry

the yard gets and spend
time to keep these blossoms well
hydrated or else

they might not survive ...
always 'something' isn't it?
A 'problem' I'll take ;--)

Wow...your words are as beautiful and prolific as your flowers! I didn't think about trying to tie into the Haiku Friday even though I've seen it around a looooooong time.

So glad you decided to post double duty!! I've so enjoyed reading your (and everyone's) posts for Poetic License. I'll be sure to add you to the email reminder list in case you'd like to "play" next month :).

Paisley – You’re welcome! I’m delighted you accepted the invitation and found my post worth your time.

Robin – Like you, I watched the Haiku Friday folk for a while before I found the ‘hub’ and decided to participate. I do this weekly now … on each of my blogs … but now that I’ve discovered Poetic License … I’d like to play again, so I’ll look forward to the email reminder ;--)

Pamela – I appreciate your visit to each of my blogs today. I’m happy to have found yours and others in Pensieve’s Poetic License crowd!

MamaGeek – Yes … yay for Spring indeed!!! I’m delighted you enjoyed my offering today.

I’m so happy each of you decided to spend a bit of time at Sacred Ruminations … leaving your thoughts. I hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend!

Beautiful.

I should take some pictures of the spring snow here in NC - which is yellow and powdery and covers everything and also goes by the name of POLLEN.

Maybe I will when my head stops imploding. ;-)

Beautiful flowers. We're supposed to get up to 65 on Monday. Talk about a heat wave!! It is 51 already today, the sun is shining, and it's a beautiful day to be outside. I think I'll go take a walk.

Jennifer – How nice to find your comment this morning! I’m sorry that I’ve not visited you more regularly. Life’s been busier than usual and my ‘blog reading’ has suffered. I did pop over just now to read your ‘Six Word Memoir’ and laughed myself silly while leaving you’re a comment there. I do remember ‘Spring’ allergies … used to suffer from them myself miserably (and still do occasionally in some surroundings), but methinks the rather constant onshore breezes off the ocean help ‘clean up’ the air around home. I’d love to see your photos, however I do understand the ‘head’ problems. The hardest times for me were spent in the classroom with Kleenex to my nose and aspirin handy in my pocket … trying to teach effectively while my allergy symptoms drove me nuts!

Greatfullivin – I’m glad you enjoyed my ‘flower photos’ and hope your own garden blooms very soon now so you can enjoy your own. It’s been a lovely Spring here in Southern California thus far ;--)

Eve – My ‘writing buddy’ who lives in Minnesota refers to the 40s as a ‘heat wave’ and that always makes me chuckle … just as your 65 degree ‘heat wave comment’ does now … but I do know that all things are relative. Compared to your recent temperatures, our ‘lows’ make for enjoyable ‘highs’ in your part of the world. I hope you enjoyed your walk and that things continue to ‘warm up’ in Idaho.

I appreciate each of you visiting and leaving your comments here for me to discover, and I hope you all have a delightful day!
Hugs and blessings,

I just love your flower photos! And now, finally, Spring is definitely here in Maryland! Pretty soon I'll be able to post a pic of our gorgeous Cherry Blossom tree!

Barb said...

What a glorious garden. Your Haiku has obviously been inspired!

Karen – I’m so happy to share … and I look forward to seeing your Cherry Blossom tree in bloom soon!

WillThink4Wine – (I love the ‘handle’ you’ve chosen to use) Thanks so much for your visit and kind words about my flowers and haiku … two things I enjoy immensely and delight in sharing with others.

I hope you both had a wonderful weekend and have a marvelous Monday!
Hugs and blessings,
