The reason for the season ...

Sharing from this morning's email from:

Here's the Story of the Day
Purple Madonna

One time
on Hollywood Boulevard
I saw a young girl with a baby.
It was a crisp winter morning
& her hair shone
dark purple in the sun.
She was panhandling
outside the Holiday Inn
& the door clerk came out
& told her to be on her way & I
wondered if anyone would
recognize the Christ child
if they happened to meet.
I remember thinking
it's not like there are any
published pictures
& purple seemed
like a good color for a Madonna
so I gave her a dollar
just in case.

Mary Did You Know?

(sung by Mark Lowry who wrote the lyric
& gave it to Buddy Greene who wrote the music)

My favorite (new) Christmas Song

If you click on the up arrow at the bottom right,
you'll get options to hear the song sung by others ...
My second favorite is Mark & Buddy singing together.

Thought for Today
"I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable time; the only time I know of, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people below them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys." Charles Dickens

Merry Christmas to you. "Mary Did You Know" is my new favorite Christmas song too. I heard a wonderful performance of the song by Gayle Bisesi at a bebnefit concert on December 7. I love your Charles Dickens quote too.

Merry Merry Christmas! And thank you for the lovely quote by Dickens...that passage is one of my all time favorite in all literature!

May your Christmas be blessed and fill with at least half the joy that you bring to those you know you!

Blessings!
