Living Fully With Awareness and Enthusiasm

The final card in the box of Zen cards
reminds me to:

EXPERIENCE
all things with the
ENTHUSIASM of a child,
as if you were seeing it for
the FIRST time.
This is the Zen mind,
always new,
always aware,
always that of a beginner.

love the zen card. the eyes of a child...there's not really anything much more pure than that!

Lucy - Isn't that the truth! One of the things I loved about teaching (and miss in retirement) is the regular contact with children ... seeing things through their eyes. Of course, in retirement I get to BE a kid again (especially here in the Blogosphere) … and that's pretty wonderful! LOL

I had a comment in mind, but now I can't remember what it was. One of those "senior moments"? I'm sure it was witty and wonderful. Equally sure it will never come back to me. Ah, well. I love your picture anyway.

Not to worry Eve – It happens to me more often than I’d care to admit. As for the photo … I took it yesterday when Molly and I were out front playing. There were lots of little birds everywhere … darting in and out of the tree (located in my neighbor’s yard) and onto my roof. They like to hang out in my citrus trees (lemon and lime) and to feed on the alyssum seeds on the parkway … but when Ms. Kitty, Molly, and I are out front, they move to higher perches.

The Moody Blues had a song about the eyes of a child.
I think that if every one would approach the world thu the eyes of a child that there may not be so much war, that just maybe there would be peace in the world. That maybe the people of the world would help one another instead of trying to kill one another.
as another song went'would it be nice......."
Oh well enough of my dreaming, thanks for the thought.

Dream - It's interesting to consider that the older I get, the younger I think. Regressing? Perhaps I'm just remembering (and trusting my instincts) ... at last. Methinks others are doing so as well.

Mike - Seems like they (and you) have the right idea ... and there's nothing wrong with dreaming. If we can "see" it, we can achieve it!

These Zen cards are so beautiful...I may have to invest in a set of my own when Friday roles around again.

Karen – I’ve certainly enjoyed them. It was my friend Jackie who found them at Lucy’s of all places … and I ended up getting them on sale, but they’re worth full price. I have a similar set with messages from Don Miguel Ruiz that I love too.
