Thought for Today

Twenty years from now

you will be more disappointed

by the things that you didn’t do

than by the ones you did do.

So throw off the bowlines.

Sail away from the safe harbor.

Catch the trade winds in your sails.

Explore. Dream. Discover.

I like that quote. Thank you for sharing it. It's mostly true, but there are a few things that I did 20, 30, even 40 years ago that disappoint me. I knew better. The big disappointments are those things that were left undone.

Oh yes--this is a quote we should keep posted in prominent places!

Eve – I keep this one in front of me to remind myself to step out of my comfort zone so I won’t be sorry down the line for the things I didn’t do.

Lucy – How exciting! How long will you be there and what will you be doing? My sister and I spent a week in Paris in 1967 and it was wonderful to see all the paintings and buildings we’d read about in books. I’m sure you’ll have a marvelous time and will look forward to reading about it (and seeing pictures perhaps) on your blogs.

Karen – I couldn’t agree more. It’s so easy to fall into comfortable routines and miss out on opportunities as they arise.

Hugs and blessings to you all!

I love this. Life is too short to always put your dreams and happiness on hold.

Yertle - I couldn't agree more, and that's why my home is filled with such reminders for it's too easy to become complacent when all is going smoothly and panicked when challenges arise. Wisdom is all around and it's good to remind one another of such things.

The image for Listen to the questions could be an illustration for this quote, too!

I am glad I followed you over here today. Thanks for your response to my posting.
