Wordless Wednesday #2

Four views from my front yard
and one from Pacific Coast Highway

#1 - looking toward the ocean

#2 - looking toward the mountains away from the ocean

#3 - looking toward the Southeast

#4 - looking toward the East along PCH

#5 - my view from the front yard looking Eastward
across the street

Wordless Wednesday #1 is at Small Reflections today.

If you need words today, you'll find plenty in my 2007 review of my ten weeks in the Blogosphere and/or my thank you to my Blogging Buddies who (if they haven't done so already) are cordially invited to snag (or snarf) one (or more) of my thank you graphics (or not) as they choose.

Kathryn - I've got lots of room for you, but I suspect you wouldn't want to leave those three little QTs (or that husband of yours) behind. Actually, I like to think of this place as my little piece of heaven. I live a block and a half from the Pacific Ocean in the beach town I hung out in as a teenager (being a native to California and growing up in the greater LA area). I feel pretty lucky I do. That photo of yours today was special indeed. I think I found the link to you at Momisodes, but my memory isn't the best at this time of night. Thank you for visiting both my blogs today!

Ocean AND mountains?! That loud sigh you just heard was me, wishing I had ocean and mountains...

Dream - I'm sure it's lovely where you live too. Get your camera out and share. I do feel blessed to live so close to the ocean. 'Tis good that I bought this house almost 30 years ago because I couldn't begin to afford it today. I've visited some beautiful places in my lifetime, but the thing about Southern California is that just about anything is an hour or less away by car. If that makes me spoiled, so be it. As always, thanks for visiting and sharing. I love the surprise of finding and responding to comments.

Karen - You must have been leaving your comment as I left my response. Talk about timing! I hope you're feeling better and taking steps to R E L A X proactively!

Yes, it’s true that I've got mountains and oceans ... along with traffic on PCH (that's Pacific Coast Highway), parking problems when folks come to visit, party noise from May through September (Memorial Day to Labor Day) and sometimes beyond, palm fronds littering the ground on windy days, beer bottles and cans in the yard to pick up and toss out, lovely neighbors and interesting passers-by to chat with, people who block the alley and park behind my garage illegally, pigeons and seagulls who make BIG SPLATS, and did I mention mold and rust? It's all about trade-offs methinks ... and I'm just a native California gal through and through … gratefully happy and barefoot most of the time.

I'm just going to slink over to a corner and be consumed by jealousy!

Ah, I think I really need a vacation - or a change of scenery and you better not tempt me with too many photos or you may find yourself with an unexpected visitor...

What a beautiful place. Thanks for stopping by Writing in Faith today and offering your thoughts. It's nice to meet you via your blog.

Welcome everyone. I'm glad you enjoy my stormy skies. It looks similar today though the rains haven't yet started. Molly and I have played and walked because we're told it'll be rainy for the next few days.

Mama Zen - Jealousy? Naw … not with that little QT keeping you entertained with her curious mind and budding photography skills. You know the grass is always greener elsewhere, but you’ve got the life to be envied! Treasure these years because she'll grow up all too fast!

Kara – Oh … you’d miss that man of yours, the snowy weather and spectacular scenery of New Mexico … your “daily lumps” and you’d have to deal with Molly and Ms. Kitty who can be quite demanding, especially in inclement weather. Then there’s the clutter and mess surrounding me that I’m trying to get rid of ... so you might get drafted into service to earn your keep. Of course, if you need a break … you know where I am. Don’t you have a brother who lives nearby someplace in Coastal California?

Sandy – I enjoyed visiting you blog and reading your thought-provoking T-13 today. Thanks for venturing out to stop by here. I’m wondering if you saw my T-13 at Small Reflections, but everything is so S L O W online today, I dare not check. I never know which of my URLs are going to show up in Blogger when I leave a comment.

Happy New Year to each of you. May 2008 bring peace, wonder, joy … and whatever else you seek.
Hugs and blessings,

Mike - Many California coastal areas are lovely, and I do feel blessed to live here. I'm happy you were able to see the beauty for yourself on your trip back then. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your memories.
