Another Thursday Thirteen (#3) on the topic of "Ice" as I consider the question of what happened to "Inspire Me Thursday" this week?

After discovering Inspire Me Thursday a few weeks back and leaving my first two links (one to a previous gratitude post on Sacred Ruminations here) and (another here linking to a similar Thanksgiving Day post at Small Reflections), I intended to participate weekly in Inspire Me Thursdays on this Blog and do my Thursday Thirteen posts at Small Reflections. However, Melanie seems to be making some changes and there's no topic for today. Since I skipped last week's topic on "Ice" ... I've decided to take it up today in a Thursday Thirteen sort of way.

So here's my 3rd T-13 post!

Random Thoughts on Ice
1. Here at the beach we have no "weather -related" ice or snow, but here are some links to lovely winter weather at Blogs I enjoy: Spilling Out 2. here and here, Imagined Life 3. here and 4. here, and Living in the Light I Find 5. here and 6. here.
7. Diamonds ... "ice" I'm adding to my Christmas list :)
8. Chocolate "icing" on cake and cupcakes is my favorite.
9. I like my wine with ice.
10. I'm feeling like I'm on thin ice because the ideas aren't flowing as quickly as I'd hoped and I need to leave the house soon.
11. I love to watch figure skaters perform on the ice.
12. I like ice sculptures like those created in Groundhog Day.
13. My toes felt like ice until I put my fuzzy slippers on.

Okay ... I'll admit this isn't a wonderful list , but it's the best I can come up with Molly pestering me for a walk, and still make my Weight Watchers meeting this morning.

Links to other Thursday Thirteens!

The purpose of the meme is to get to know everyone who participates a little bit better every Thursday. Visiting fellow Thirteeners is encouraged! If you participate, leave the link to your Thirteen in others comments. It’s easy, and fun! Trackbacks, pings, comment links accepted!

As a quick follow-up to my Google Reader issues shared in yesterday's post, I've discovered that choosing to "mark all as read" doesn't make them disappear from the list ... so I can check out earlier posts at my leisure (without feeling overwhelmed and/or finding it challenging to keep up with current posts on favorite sites). As of this moment, I'm pleased to report that my GR count is 134 even though I've added many new Blogs while visiting other T-13 sites already today. Unfortunately, my MSN email dilemma continues.

Arg. Ice. Yuck.
Except for the diamond kind, lol...and I too, enjoy watching figure skaters. Happy TT!

I think of the words "beauty" and "danger" when I think of ice. I've experienced several ice storms, and while the results can be breath-takingly beautiful, it can kill, too.

Samantha - thanks for visiting. I loved YOUR T-13 list of "oldies" from my younger daze!

Karen - where were YOU when I was desperately trying to come up with this list earlier? Yes ... there are icy roads, ice picks, the ice princess (and snow queen) ... and, of course, a favorite game my dad used to play with us in the car -- IC something LOL Years ago someone sent me an incredible email of icy conditions, but when I looked for it earlier I couldn't find it. Maybe another time?

I thought your list was really clever!

Hee hee. I don't like my wine with ice, but I like ice wine. Does that count? :)

Ugh....ice. There's a whole world full of it outside our house today. I do like your #7 and #8. I'll be adding that to my Christmas list too :)

Mama Zen - I appreciate your feedback, yet I do think the photo on YOUR blog today SHOULD be included. Lest I forget to add it, let me put the URL here:

Kikipotamus - I'm sure it does, though I've not heard of "ice wine" before.

Sandy - well, I didn't really choose the topic, I went with the Inspire Me Thursday topic from LAST week since there wasn't a new topic THIS week. And, of course, here in So Cal it's anything BUT icy. Thinking about it now, a link to YOUR blog is in order too with all the wintry weather photos you've shared lately. Chocolates and diamonds ... yes, that's the ticket!

Happy Holidays to you all and thanks for visiting today.

I hope you get all sorts of ice for your fingers and ears---and only as much of the other kind as you want!

Those ice sculptures in Groundhog Day WERE beautiful!

Very Creative! Merry Christmas!

Damozel – Thanks! We all know “diamonds are a gal’s best friend” … :)
I returned to watch the rest of those great animal video clips this morning when there wasn’t so much traffic to slow things down. That was SOME T-13 list!

Monday-Sunday – I appreciate the feedback and Merry Christmas back atcha :)
Perhaps I should add this morning’s photo on your blog to this icy list. I guess you’re a real “Colorado mountain mama” ala John Denver fame! I enjoyed your “orange” T-13… but I prefer Satsumas to Clementines.

Thanks to both of you for visiting and adding your perspective.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a nice comment. I'll try to get that feed straightened out. I was totally unaware of this problem. Thanks so much for telling me!

Smiles,
Michele

That was very nICE, Storyteller.

I miss snow occasionally in San Francisco, but will be happy if I never have to drive on ice again, although it looks gorgeous sparkling in the trees.

Michele - it was my pleasure ... and I hope you do get it cleared up so I can keep current. I was wondering why there were no new posts on your site lately, and was surprised to see new posts when I checked today. Guess relying on technology doesn’t always work as well as we’d like.

H in SF - That's twICE I've heard from you today (once on YOUR blog and once here). LOL I love looking at the snowy weather from a distance, but I do feel for those folks in the midwest who are without power in the cold. Brrrrrr! I'm trying to remind myself it's really not cold here at all ... but it has been colder than normal. I guess it's all relative. Thanks for visiting. It's good to see you out & about.
